If the patient visits the doctor without a referral, the appointment and all related services are chargeable.<br>For paid services, a referral is not required, but if possible, please bring the results of any previous examinations.<br>Please arrive 5 minutes before the scheduled appointment time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Infertility<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Required examinations: physical examination, consultation, infertility\/testicular dysgenesis syndrome questionnaire, semen analysis (twice), prostate secretion test, hormone tests, first-catch urine analysis, tests for sexually transmitted infections if necessary, ultrasound examinations, and genetic tests.<br>Optimal examination plan: the examinations usually begin with a nurse\u2019s visit, including a health assessment and physical examination. After that, a further examination plan will be arranged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a special (paid) service, it is possible to complete all examinations in one day in Tartu, and in rare cases also in Tallinn. To request this service, it is best to inquire by email (<strong>meestekliinik@kliinikum.ee<\/strong>). For the same-day service, the first step is a doctor\u2019s or nurse\u2019s appointment, followed by the tests. The test results are ready within 3\u20134 hours, after which a concluding doctor\u2019s visit takes place. If sexually transmitted infection tests are also performed from the first urine sample, their results will be available a few days after the test and communicated by phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The semen sample is provided in a private room located near the laboratory. Before the analysis, the man should abstain from sexual activity for 2\u20137 days, preferably 3\u20134 days.<br>In cases of problematic or borderline analysis results, at least two tests taken a few weeks apart are necessary to make an accurate assessment.<br>The examinations performed make it possible to evaluate the functional condition of the male reproductive system and thereby indirectly assess the man\u2019s fertility level.<br>After completing the examination package, the man will receive an evaluation of his current reproductive function and prognosis. If necessary, fertility-supporting treatment will be prescribed, and a follow-up test date will be scheduled.<br>Upon conclusion of the case, the relevant information will be forwarded to the national health information system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Erectile dysfunction<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Required examinations: consultation, Men\u2019s Clinic general questionnaire, trial treatment, physical examination if necessary, hormone tests, laboratory tests to assess general health, and penile vascular Doppler ultrasound examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pragmatic approach scheme:<br>In this case, the first visit is limited to analyzing the patient\u2019s condition and treatment risks based on the questionnaire, followed by prescribing an oral medication for erectile dysfunction.<br>In milder cases, this approach may lead to a lasting therapeutic result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investigative approach scheme:<br>To determine the causes of the disorders, a physical examination of the man is performed, along with blood tests for sex hormones (do not eat for 2\u20133 hours before the visit).<br>For men over 45 years of age, a test for prostate cancer is also conducted.<br>A trial treatment is prescribed.<br>If necessary, additional tests such as penile vascular Doppler ultrasound examinations and blood tests to assess overall health are performed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Premature ejaculation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Required examinations: consultation, men\u2019s clinic general questionnaire, hormone and biochemical tests, and, if necessary, a physical examination and tests for prostate inflammation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pragmatic approach scheme:<br>In this case, the first visit is limited to analyzing the patient\u2019s condition and treatment risks based on the questionnaire, followed by prescribing oral medication to manage premature ejaculation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investigative approach scheme:<br>To determine the causes of the disorder, a physical examination of the man is performed, along with the men\u2019s clinic general questionnaire, blood tests, and examinations to rule out prostate diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Prostate diseases, urination disorders, pelvic pain, prostatitis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Required examinations:<\/strong><br>Consultation, Men\u2019s Clinic general questionnaire or urination disorder questionnaire (IPSS), tests for prostate inflammation (prostate secretion or semen), urine flow measurement using device analysis, and a PSA test to assess prostate cancer risk and prostate damage.<br>If necessary, additional examinations may include ultrasound scans, hormone tests, sexually transmitted infection tests, a voiding diary, and other studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Optimal examination plan:<\/strong><br>The examinations usually begin with a nurse\u2019s visit, including a health assessment and physical examination. The test results are ready within 3\u20134 hours, after which a concluding doctor\u2019s visit takes place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Suspicion of sexually transmitted infection or urethral inflammation<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Required examinations: sexually transmitted infection (STI) risk assessment questionnaire, consultation, urine analysis using diagnostic equipment, STI tests, and physical examination if necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Optimal examination plan: the examinations can be performed without waiting for a doctor\u2019s or nurse\u2019s appointment by sending your request directly to the specific center. It is recommended to read the information sheet on male genital tract infections beforehand.<br>The tests are performed from the first morning urine sample. As an exception, they can also be done during the day if the man has not urinated for at least 3\u20134 hours.<br>In more complex cases, the doctor may suggest taking samples from the urethra, semen, or prostate secretion.<br>Only PCR-based tests are used.<br>If the first visit is with a doctor, antibiotic treatment can be started immediately if necessary.<br>Test results are usually available three days after sample collection.<br>In the case of a positive STI finding, a quick appointment with a doctor is available.<br>The partner\u2019s treatment will be arranged according to the test results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NB! STI tests are paid services in our clinic!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing and treatment in one day<br>Available only at the Tartu center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The one-day service requires that the test sample (first morning urine) be delivered to the Men\u2019s Clinic at the Tartu center (L. Puusepa 1a, 2nd floor, Men\u2019s Clinic) between 7:45 and 8:00 a.m.<br>The doctor\u2019s appointment takes place the same day starting from 3:00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prior registration is required by phone (7 319 323) or email (<a href=\"mailto:meestekliinik@kliinikum.ee\">meestekliinik@kliinikum.ee<\/a>). You can purchase a urine sample container from a pharmacy, or you can obtain one from our Tartu, Tallinn, P\u00e4rnu, or Narva centers the previous afternoon between 1:00\u20134:00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The scope of necessary examinations is determined based on the results of the STI risk assessment questionnaire and the presence of inflammatory cells in the urine (the intensity of the inflammatory reaction).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is followed by laboratory analysis of the sample material.<br>In the afternoon, the doctor\u2019s visit takes place \u2014 including examination, discussion of results, and, if necessary, immediate treatment and\/or decisions about further testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instructions for collecting a urine sample We recommend performing the sample collection procedure in a toilet or bathroom.<br>For the test, the first morning urine (first stream!) must be collected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before urination, it is advisable to gently massage the genital area from top to bottom \u2014 this helps release any hidden inflammation into the sample material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At least half a container of urine is required for the analysis, and it is important to ensure that the very first drops of urine are collected into the container.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After collecting the sample, make sure that the urine container is tightly sealed with the lid.<br>Please write your name on the container and place it in a plastic bag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Inflammation of the foreskin and glans penis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Required examinations: physical examination, consultation, and, if necessary, tests for sexually transmitted infections, testing for candidiasis (yeast infection), secretion culture for common bacteria, or semen analysis for signs of inflammation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Optimal examination plan:<br>It is recommended to read the information sheet on male genital tract infections beforehand.<br>Do not wash the foreskin within 24 hours before the visit.<br>Do not urinate 2\u20133 hours before the appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a typical case, no additional tests are needed, and treatment is started immediately.<br>If necessary, samples may be taken from under the foreskin or from an ulcer.<br>Sometimes, it is advisable to perform tests for sexually transmitted infections, semen analysis, or prostate secretion tests to rule out prostate inflammation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even when samples are taken to identify the cause of inflammation, treatment usually begins immediately during the first visit.<br>Test results are usually available one week after sample collection.<br>The partner\u2019s treatment is provided according to the test results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When coming to the appointment, always bring your ID.
