The Nursing Department is for chronically ill, elderly and terminal patients to provide them with nursing, symptomatic and hospice care.
From 2003, the department provides home-nursing services.
The goal of home-nursing is to:

  • provide nursing care for patients undergoing therapy;
  • help maintain existing abilities;
  • provide training to patients and their close ones;
  • promote health.

Specialists working at the department have excellent knowledge and skills in the field (nurses, attendants, doctor-counsellors, an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, social worker and pastoral counsellor). Here, students, working under the supervision of our experienced employees, receive practical training, because the Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic operates as a teaching base for the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tartu and Tartu Health Care College.
