Myofunctional therapy

Myofunctional therapy is indicated for the diagnosis and treatment of myofunctional disorders in children, adolescents and adults. Mouth breathing (incl. mixed breathing), breathing abnormalities during sleep, sleep apnea, infantile (atypical) swallowing pattern (the tongue moves against or between the teeth when swallowing , teeth grinding, thumb sucking, intense nail biting, tension and pain in the mandible area and/or muscles of mastication and pre- and postoperative interventions to remove lingual frenulum, issues with pronounciation and speech are indications for myofunctional therapy.

The Health Insurance Fund pays for myofunctional therapy services if orthodontist has diagnosed dental anomaly. In the case of paid admission, no referral is required.
