For Colleagues

Since spring 2013, a referral is required to visit a men’s health specialist. We would appreciate it if the referral included the following information:

  • Reason for referral
  • Excerpt from the medical record, including results of previous tests and consultations
  • If the referral is related to partner-related issues (infertility, reproductive tract infections, etc.), please also include information on the partner’s test results
  • If possible, a list of all medications currently being taken
  • Name and medical code of the referring physician

The Men’s Clinic guarantees a fast, out-of-turn appointment (within 1–7 working days) for the following conditions/suspected conditions (applies when a physician e-consultation has been completed):

  • Suspected testicular cancer – palpable change in the testicle
  • Inflammation of the testicle or epididymis – acutely developed pain and swelling in the testicle
  • PSA value > 4 ng/ml or rapid PSA increase > 1 ng/ml per year
  • Suspicion of sexually transmitted infection (paid service!

The discharge summaries from the Tartu University Hospital Men’s Clinic are sent to the central digital archive, and duplicate paper copies are no longer issued without the explicit request of the patient or the referring physician.
