Cardiology Day Care Unit Reminder
Preparation for Day Care at Home
- Please do not eat on the morning of the procedure.
- You may drink clear fluids: water, pulp-free juices, tea and coffee without milk or cream, sports drinks.
- Please take your prescribed morning medications.
If you are unable to come for day care treatment, please inform us as soon as possible by calling the secretary at 5331 8456 (Mon–Fri 8–16) or at other times the duty nurse at 731 7479.
Please bring with you:
- passport or ID card
- daily medications (if not taken in the morning)
- personal aids (glasses, hearing aid, cane, etc.)
Please bring only essential personal items, and leave large amounts of money and valuables at home.
Arrival for Day Care
Your day care procedure takes place at the Heart Clinic of Tartu University Hospital, Cardiology Department, L. Puusepa 8.
Upon arrival at the hospital, please leave your outerwear in the cloakroom and then proceed to the registration desk according to your queue number:
- Building D (entrance from L. Puusepa Street): Mon–Fri 07:30–09:00
- Building J (entrance from N. Lunini Street): Mon–Fri 07:30–09:00
After registration, you will be directed to the Cardiology Department on the 5th floor of Building F.
Day Care
A day care nurse will check you in, explain the further process, and guide you to the room where you will wait for your procedure.
The duration of your stay in day care is usually 4–8 hours, depending on the procedure. You will be provided with one meal during this time.
The day care unit is open Mon–Fri 07:30–15:30.
Please ensure that you have someone who can assist you getting home if needed.
