Construction of Maarjamõisa Medical Campus, Phase II

This project is part of the strategic objective of Tartu University Hospital (TUH) which aims to concentrate acute treatment into one compact system, and to develop the Maarjamõisa Medical Campus of Tartu University Hospital.

Development of the Maarjamõisa Medical Campus has been divided into four construction Phases. As a result of the realization of each of the four Phases by 2020, a comprehensive Maarjamõisa Medical Campus of Tartu University Hospital will be developed, by which all of the currently widely dispersed clinics will be restructured.

Construction of Phase II will be a logical extension of construction Phase I, which was completed in 2008 with the support of the European Union Regional Development Fund, as well as the prerequisite for the preparation of construction Phases III and IV.

The immediate aim of the construction Phase II is by the end of 2015 to build and deploy new buildings (J, K, L) of the acute treatment complex of Maarjamõisa Medical Campus.

The Estonian Ministry of Social Affairs submitted to the Commission an application for a major project entitled “Extension and renovation of Tartu University Hospital: Construction of Maarjamõisa Medical Campus, Phase II, stage 1” in which it envisages a contribution from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the priority axis 6 „Development of health and welfare infrastructure“ of the operational programme.
